Ramadan Walk

Join our guide local guide Shanti from Jane’s Tours on a walking tour in Kampong Glam, the Malay Heritage enclave of Singapore. Ramadan is the month when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset but during the afternoon the area becomes alive with food stalls selling takeaway delicacies.

During the tour, we will learn about Islam and, in particular, what happens during this holiest month of Ramadan as Muslims gear up to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa. We will visit shops selling lush fabrics, crystals, wicker ware, perfume, and frankincense. We will also learn about Hari Raya Haji, the second most important festival for Muslims.

We will then share a meal of curries, both vegetable, and meat with rice. Ideally, we would like to join our Muslim friends and break the fast with them when the call rings out from the Sultan Mosque.

This will be a very special experience which only comes about one month a year. The price includes dinner.
