his tour is a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into the different cultures and beliefs of the many groups who make up the population of Singapore. During this tour, which is also referred to as the ‘Rite of Passage tour’ by our local guide Diana, we visit several cemeteries in Singapore. Most of them are in Choa Chu Kang, in the west of Singapore, hence the name of this tour ‘to the West’. But ‘to the West’ also has a different meaning, you can hear more about that during the tour.
The date has been chosen because it precedes the Qing Ming Festival which is sometimes called the ‘tomb cleaning festival’ when whole families visit the graves of their loved ones to pay respects and carry out the rites of passage that mark the end of existence on earth.
During the tour, we will visit various State cemeteries located in Chua Chu Kang area as well as the beautiful Japanese Cemetery Park in another part of the island.
This is a joint tour with HOI, the Dutch network, places are limited book early.
