Learn about the BA Art Buddies
When a small number of us with some experience, loads of enthusiasm and a little trepidation set out for Emerald Hill, there, already in position with easels all set up, were husband and wife members of Urban Sketchers Singapore.
Inspired we soon got to grips with recording the lovely shop houses. Our aim was to learn from each other, casually sharing our results and tips over drinks and snacks afterwards.
Along the way we have had a few laughs, made new friends (including the public as they love to stop for a chat), learnt more about our neighbourhoods through members sharing the hosting of venues and a great deal about different art materials and their effects.
We love learning new techniques and in June this year, we met up with the artist Merryn Trevethan (whose mural decorated an entrance at Gillman Barracks) and is a friend of the British born artist Julie Williams, who explained acrylic transfer to us.
Come and join us one Tuesday morning and before long you will be framing the results of your sketching trips.
The beautiful pictures above were created by the following very talented BA members: Emma Nicholson, Marianne Petropoulos, Anita Mager and Diane Sansom.
