This walk starts along the pretty waterways of Punggol,
then we cross over a small causeway to Coney Island
which in the 1950s was the venue for Singapore’s first
island health resort with a dance hall, restaurant and
seaside accommodation. Now Coney Island is a haven for
flora and fauna in it’s coastal forest, grassland, mangroves
and Casuarina woods and lovely sea views.
Leaving the island we walk on to Lorong Halus, previously
a rubbish landfill site now an area of wetland, then back to
Punggol by the LRT.
Things to bring: comfortable walking shoes, umbrella
(protection from sun & rain), mosquito repellent, sunscreen
and plenty of water as there are few places to fill up, plus
